A few days ago, a US soldier in Okinawa was arrested for allegedly raped the tourist from the neighbor city in Japan. Civil activists in Okinawa protested for this incident at the gate of military camp. A soldier in military vehicle near the gate flipped the bird provocatively. One of the activists approached to the car to protest more, but the said soldier behaved more provocatively. At the same time, the activist got arrested by the local police because he approached to the US soldiers’ vehicle beyond the limit. For Japanese authority, which are more important, Japanese citizens in Okinawa or US soldiers???

Outside Nago Police, demonstrators protesting the unfair arrest of a person who was protesting the recent raping of a Japanese woman by a US serviceman. Accordi...ng to eyewitnesses, during the protest in front of the main gate of US Camp Schwab, a US personnel in a car repeatedly exercised provocative behaviors. So, the person approached the US personnel to tell him to stop provoking. As he went over the border of a restricted area just a bit, he was captured. Lawyers said that there was no need to have taken a person who is not in a position to either run away or destroy evidence into custody. They said the police should immediately free the person.
